How many trainee vacancies are there per year?

Approximately 12 in London and eight throughout our regional offices.

What is the deadline for training contract applications?

Our deadline for training contracts to commence in September 2011 is the 30th November 2010. Our deadline for training contracts to commence in September 2012 and 2013 is the 31st July 2011. We advise you take time and care with your application and don’t be tempted to leave it to the last minute.

Do you offer sponsorship or pay fees towards the LPC?

Unfortunately we do not offer any financial help towards fees or offer any sponsorships.

Should I apply if I don’t meet your minimum criteria?

We do take into consideration strong mitigating circumstances.

Do you consider non-law applications?

We welcome applications from non-law graduates.

Would I get feedback regarding my application?

Due to a large volume of applications received we are unable to give feedback at application stage. We are however, willing to give constructive feedback to all applicants who attend an assessment day with us.

How will my training contract be structured?

We offer four seats, spending six months in each of our departments, Company, Commercial, Dispute Resolution, Liability and Workplace. You will get the opportunity to work with clients from a variety of different sectors. About half way through your seat we will meet with you to discuss your preferences for the next seat, and wherever possible try and accommodate your wishes.

What formal training will I receive?

In your first two weeks you will receive a tailored induction solely tailored for trainees and complete the compulsory section of the professional skills course run by an external provider. Throughout your two years you will be given the opportunity to attend in-house and external training seminars.

How will I be managed and appraised?

During each seat you will be assigned a senior solicitor or partner who will act as your training supervisor during your time in their team. They will be responsible for monitoring your progress and workload as well as your day-to-day duties. Mid way through and at the end of each seat your training supervisor will conduct an appraisal on your performance. There is also a feedback meeting for all trainees, which takes place every February.

Will I be offered a position on qualification?

It is our intention to offer trainees a position on qualification – this is the goal we have in mind whenever we hire trainees.
